Ignite Creativity. Inspire Community. Make Your Mark.
Are you a proactive, relational professional who thrives on supporting young people, assisting families, and keeping school life running smoothly? Harleston Sancroft Academy is seeking an enthusiastic Student Receptionist to join our vibrant, growing Secondary Phase community where every child matters and every journey is valued.
Why Sancroft?
At the heart of our academy lies a deep commitment to the "whole child". Here, we believe that people matter first. Relationships are the foundation of everything we achieve, and we’ve built a school where both students and staff are encouraged not just to participate, but to truly thrive. In this vital role, your day-to-day interactions at Student Reception will make a tangible, lasting difference in ensuring our students feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed.
The Role
You will play a central, welcoming role in the daily life of our Secondary Phase, serving as the main point of contact for students while supporting general front-desk operations. We are a growing school with exciting opportunities ahead, and we want a dedicated practitioner who can:
- Build strong, supportive relationships with secondary pupils, offering a reassuring, efficient, and helpful presence at the Student Reception desk.
- Manage day-to-day student enquiries, triage basic first aid/wellbeing needs, and handle attendance sign-ins and late arrivals with efficiency and care.
- Communicate effectively and warmly with families, administrative staff, and pastoral teams to ensure clear communication across the academy.
- Maintain accurate pupil records and administrative data while championing a welcoming, safe, and organised reception environment.
The Ideal Candidate
You are someone who combines empathy with composure, bringing a compassionate yet structured approach to student wellbeing and admin support. You see potential in every child and have the communication skills, patience, and warmth to build immediate trust with secondary pupils and families. You're looking for more than just a desk job—you're seeking a community role where your talents will be nurtured and your daily impact will be lasting.
Working pattern
08:30-13:45 Mon-Fri with one day (TBC) working 08:30-11:30.
