Working within our Data Services team, you will support organisations across the Energy sector, helping them modernise their information environments, migrate legacy content and establish secure, well-governed collaboration platforms.
This is a hands-on consultancy role combining solution design with technical delivery, with a strong emphasis on SharePoint information architecture, Microsoft Purview and information governance. You will work directly with customers to design and implement secure, compliant Microsoft 365 environments, while supporting complex data migration and modernisation programmes.
As the Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Consultant, you will:
- Work directly with customers to understand business requirements, assess existing environments and recommend appropriate Microsoft 365 and SharePoint solutions.
- Design and implement SharePoint Online environments, including site architecture, document libraries, metadata, taxonomy, content types and permissions.
- Lead and deliver migrations from legacy file shares and SharePoint environments into SharePoint Online, using tools such as ShareGate and Microsoft migration tooling.
- Design and implement information governance and compliance solutions using Microsoft Purview, including sensitivity labels, retention policies and data classification.
- Develop migration strategies covering discovery, data assessment, information architecture, security, testing and cutover planning.
- Establish SharePoint governance frameworks to support effective information management, secure collaboration and ongoing platform management.
- Use PowerShell and PnP scripting to automate migration activities, site provisioning and administrative processes.
- Advise customers on Microsoft 365 best practices, including information security, access management and Copilot readiness.
- Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders and end users throughout solution design, implementation and adoption.
- Produce solution documentation, provide technical guidance and support the successful transition of solutions into operational use.
