The role will support the delivery of the Council Plan, Citysafe priorities and wider place-based initiatives that contribute to safer, cleaner and stronger communities.As Team Leader, Safer and Stronger Communities, you will:Lead and manage a high-performing, operational team delivering community safety and neighbourhood services across LiverpoolLead on the management of complex Anti-social behaviour cases, critical incidents and multi-agency responses where requiredDevelop and maintain effective partnerships with Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, health partners, housing providers, voluntary organisations and other key stakeholdersEnsure effective governance, performance management and reporting arrangements are in place across service areasProvide professional advice and support to senior managers, elected members and partner agenciesEnsure services are evidence-led, outcome-focused and responsive to the needs of Liverpool residentsPromote equality, diversity and inclusion across all aspects of service delivery, ensuring community voices are central to decision makingThe successful Team Leader will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills and a proven ability to deliver outcomes through partnership working within a complex public sector environmentYou will have a sound understanding of community safety legislation, local government governance and the challenges facing communities across LiverpoolYou will be:An experienced leader with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering high-quality servicesSkilled at building effective relationships across organisations and sectorsExperienced in programme, project and performance managementConfident in presenting information and influencing a wide range of stakeholdersKnowledgeable about community safety, neighbourhood management and partnership workingAble to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environmentPassionate about improving outcomes for Liverpool residents and communitiesOur offer to you:At least 31 days holiday, plus bank holidays rising to 35 after 5 years’ service (pro rata if part time) - option to purchase further daysAgile working (role dependent) - a “Flexibility First” approach to agile working, where flexibility is the norm rather than the exceptionPart of the Local Government Pension Scheme – option to join the AVC SchemeProgression - opportunities and training through a wide range of high quality learningHealth and Wellbeing - offer including Employee Assistance ProgrammeCycle to Work and Travel Pass Schemes Drive Time – a salary sacrifice car lease schemeFamily friendly policies with enhanced leave Discounted Gym Memberships Employee Volunteering Scheme Medicash Next steps:Closing date: midnight on Friday 11th September 2026Shortlisting date: TBCInterview date: Tuesday 22nd September 2026Interview type: Panel interview and presentation.
