A bit about what you will do...

The Sommelier is responsible for curating, managing and delivering an exceptional wine and beverage program that enhances the overall dining experience. This role combines extensive wine knowledge, guest engagement, inventory management and staff training to ensure world-class service aligned with the restaurant’s concept and the hotel’s standard. You must consistently strive to improve guest and staff satisfaction and maximize the financial performance in areas of responsibility.

• Develop and maintain the restaurant’s wine list, ensuring balance, quality and alignment with the cuisine and brand concept
• Source wines and beverages in collaboration with suppliers, distributors, and management
• Recommend wine pairings to complement menu offerings
• Ensure proper storage, handling and rotation of all wines and beverages
• Oversee cellar organization, temperature control and glassware standards
• Provide expert wine recommendations and personalized service to guests
• Present, open, decant and serve wines according to professional and LQA standards
• Engage guests with storytelling and education to elevate their dining experience
• Handle guest inquiries and feedback related to wine and beverages with professionalism
• Train and mentor service staff on wine knowledge, pairings and service techniques
• Work closely with the kitchen and F&B management team to align wine offerings with menu changes and special events
• Support service during peak periods to ensure seamless guest experiences
• Ensure compliance with alcohol licensing policies, health regulations and hotel policies
• Maintain cleanliness, safety and organisation in all beverage service areas
• Demonstrate flexibility and perform other reasonable duties as required to meet business and guest needs.
• Support Hotel Beverage Manager with overall outlets beverage program

More about you...

• Certified Sommelier (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET Level 3 or higher preferred)

• Familiarity with spirits, cocktails, sake and non-alcoholic pairings is an advantage

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and high awareness of customer service
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sommelier or senior wine service role in a high-end restaurant or hotel
• Having high energy and stamina, with an ability to work for long hours standing
• Patience and an ability to promote the menu in line with customer needs are highly valued
