About you:
You will be an experienced Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant with excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. You will be confident working with senior leaders, elected members and external partners, and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have strong IT skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel and PowerPoint. You will have a proven ability to produce accurate, high-quality work to tight deadlines and demonstrate sound judgement, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, reliable, and able to use their initiative. You will be skilled at building positive working relationships and will enjoy working collaboratively to support effective service delivery and continuous improvement.
About the role:
As Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive, you will provide high-level executive support to the Chief Executive. You will manage a complex diary, coordinate meetings and events, monitor correspondence, and support strategic decision-making through the preparation of briefings, reports, and presentations.
You will act as the first point of contact for the Chief Executive, handling enquiries with professionalism and discretion. The role also involves coordinating Strategic Management Board and Strategic Asset Management Board meetings, maintaining action trackers, commissioning work on behalf of the Chief Executive and supporting high-profile meetings, events and VIP visits.
In addition, you will oversee a range of administrative processes, coordinate formal responses and provide support across the Executive Office as required.
About the team:
The Executive Office provides strategic and administrative support to the Council’s senior leadership. Working closely with the Chief Executive, Strategic Management Board, councillors and external partners, the team plays an important role in supporting effective governance, decision-making and corporate leadership across the organisation.
This role is primarily office based.
