About the Role
We are seeking 2 organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Personal Education Plan (PEP) Coordinators to support the educational progress of Children in Care.

One post will cover South & West Devon (based in Follaton House, Totnes TQ9 5NE) and the second post will cover Post-16 & out of county young people (based in County Hall, Exeter EX2 4QD). Please specify your preference in your application.

Every Looked After Child is required to have a termly Personal Education Plan (PEP) as part of their care plan. The PEP is a vital document that helps ensure children and young people receive the educational support they need to achieve their full potential.

As PEP Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the administration of PEPs, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and supporting positive educational outcomes for children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate PEP meetings with schools, social workers, carers, designated teachers, and other relevant professionals.
  • Ensure PEP documentation is completed accurately and within statutory timescales.
  • Upload and maintain PEP records on relevant systems, ensuring information is current and accessible.
  • Monitor and track PEP completion rates, following up with professionals where required.
  • Maintain a secure and up-to-date database of PEPs and associated educational records.
  • Provide administrative support to the Virtual School team.
  • Support the monitoring of educational progress and the effective use of Pupil Premium Plus funding.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection requirements and statutory guidance relating to Children in Care.
  • Delivering training to upskill partners in holding a PEP meeting

About You
The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Experience of arranging and coordinating multi-agency meetings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of professionals.
  • Experience of using databases and case management systems.
  • A good understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
  • Knowledge of Children in Care, education services, or local authority processes would be advantageous.
