Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:
We are different in lots of ways (that’s what makes us so interesting) with our ages ranging between 50 to 65. Most of us have mobility difficulties and require assistance to get around our house and out and about. We have different challenges in our lives which include visual impairment, dementia and learning disabilities. We have a staff team who are all trained and familiar with supporting someone with similar needs.
What is important to us
- We enjoy lots of different activities, but our favourites include going for coffee and people watching, shopping and day trips out to other cities or towns.
- Other interests we have are listening to music, watching good film, arts and crafts, visiting the local pub and going swimming.
- We are fun loving, kind, caring, considerate, respectful of other people’s personal space and belongings and have a love of music.
- We all have good sense of humours and love to laugh. Our service is a loud and noisy place, and we like to have staff that are able to thrive in busy situations.
- Being part of the local community is important to us, we like to go to the same places, as we build up relationships with the people there.
- Our home is a 1 story bungalow. All the floors are the same level inside, so we can access all areas.
- There is a large mature private garden with trees for shade and a paved area where we sit in the summer. We also have a new summer house in the garden.
- There is shared space in the home where we can eat together and chat which includes the kitchen, dining room and sitting room.
