Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the senior kitchen team in the day to day running of the operation.
  • To provide food/service to a consistently high standard, including assisting senior chefs with functions in other different areas throughout the business.
  • Supporting the team, training and mentoring all Commis Chefs and Kitchen Porters, allowing them to grow for the future.
  • To liaise with key people in the team in order to plan for the provision of food in all kitchen areas.
  • To ensure smooth running of daily operations which include ensuring no disruption to the pre-agreed menu offer.
  • Responsible for managing stock levels of that specific area including ordering when required as well as waste control.
  • Ensure the presentation of the food is consistent with the standards set by senior chefs.
  • To ensure that all legislative and Government guidelines are adhered to, including The Food Safety Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, the COSHH regulations, etc. within the areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate Personal Development.
  • Occasional early breakfast shift cover when required.
  • Any other reasonable request by the Senior Management.

  • Exemplary behaviour in the kitchen, acting as an ambassador within the team.
  • Innovative and inspiring culinary ideas for events and dining menus.
  • Previous experience as Chef de Partie or a Commis Chef wanting to progress in Events, Hotel or high end restaurants.
  • Ability to mentor a team.
  • Able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Health and Safety practices.
