About The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Team Leader to join our Group Payroll team at Oak Meadow, Leicester. This is an important role within the team, responsible for ensuring our weekly and monthly payrolls are processed accurately, efficiently and on time across the Group.

Working closely with the Group Payroll Manager and Payroll Administrators, you’ll provide leadership and support to the team while helping to drive consistent, high-quality payroll processes and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls across the Group, including PAYE, NIC, statutory payments and deductions.
  • Leading and supporting Payroll Administrators, sharing knowledge and promoting consistent best practice.
  • Managing pension deductions, returns and associated administration across the Group’s pension schemes.
  • Processing starters and leavers, including final payments, and resolving payroll queries.
  • Supporting year-end payroll activity, system testing and ensuring systems are set up correctly so colleagues are paid accurately.
  • Collecting, analysing and collating payroll data for reporting and audit purposes.
About You

  • Previous payroll leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including PAYE, NIC, pensions and statutory payments.
  • Experience using cloud-based payroll systems, ideally Access People XD.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and complex formulas, with experience working across multiple workbooks.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a highly accurate and thorough approach.
  • A collaborative team player who can build positive relationships and deliver excellent customer service.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure while taking ownership and delivering results.
