We are excited to be continuing to expand Coventry’s Statutory Assessment and Review Team (STAR), enabling us to further develop and strengthen the service we provide to families, schools, children and young people across our vibrant and diverse city. Our team works with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), their families and partner agencies to ensure they are listened to, understood and supported. We are responsible for a range of important statutory education functions within Coventry.Our passion and commitment was recognised by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) during our last Local Area SEND inspection. Inspectors commended our “genuine passion and commitment to get things right for children and young people with SEND and their families”, our respect for the “lived experiences of children and young people with SEND and their parents”, and the “strong partnership between school settings and education service providers”.We value and welcome diverse perspectives and experiences as we continue to build an inclusive workplace culture that is accepting of all and free from discrimination and bias.
