Our charity was founded in 1988 and we were one of the pioneers of the ‘Care in the Community’ agenda, enabling people to move out of long-stay institutions and live more fulfilling lives.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role:

Valentina (22), Erica (32) and Judith (60) • Judith is diagnosed Scoliosis deformity of spine, SALT IDDSI 4, registered as blind and none verbal. Judith has a learning disability and Down's Syndrome; she is profoundly deaf and has a supra pubic catheter in situ as well as stoma care. • Erica is diagnosed with a moderate learning disability • Valentina is diagnosed with a learning disability and registered hearing impaired. • Mount Road staff team are trained in stoma care, catheter emptying, using sign language, moving and handling, medication, mental health, MAPA, first aid and MCA and DOLLS We are proud of our home and the three of us are one family. We always help each other out and make sure everyone is welcome • Here at Mount Road, we have a very busy social life, we like craft club, keep fit class, swimming, college classes, charity work, cookery class, cinema club and the disco two times per week • Judith loves jigsaws, drawing, looking through family pictures and a sporting events on tv. • Valentina loves shopping, music, hair and makeup, spending time with her boyfriend, chatting on facetime to her friends. • Erica loves to keep busy with all her activity classes, she loves jigsaws and iPad games. She likes to spend time each week with her boyfriend at the disco and then family time on the weekend with her sister and brother. There are 2 staff on shift, 1 does a LDS and 1 does DS (varies from 9-6, 9-8, 9-9 and 9-10 depending on activities)We love staff getting involved with our special events such as a Christmas party, we love when staff can be involved in.

About you:

We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience.
