At Novotel Coventry, we are passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests. We are currently looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and help ensure every breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack is prepared and served to the highest standard.

The Role

As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food in line with brand standards, while maintaining excellent levels of food safety, consistency, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack menus to agreed standards.

  • Ensure all food preparation and service meets the specifications set by the Head Chef and management.

  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.

  • Prepare orders accurately in line with recipes, instructions, and checks.

  • Adhere to portion control procedures and report any wastage to the senior chef on duty.

  • Ensure correct storage of food items, following company policies on stock rotation, segregation, and day-dotting.

  • Complete daily temperature checks for fridges and freezers as required.

  • Receive, check, and store deliveries correctly within designated timeframes.

  • Maintain clear communication with front-of-house and other hotel departments during service.

  • Report any maintenance issues, equipment faults, or accidents immediately.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.

  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety regulations.

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
