At Novotel Coventry, we are passionate about delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests. We are currently looking for a Chef to join our kitchen team and help ensure every breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack is prepared and served to the highest standard.
The Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food in line with brand standards, while maintaining excellent levels of food safety, consistency, and cost control.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack menus to agreed standards.
Ensure all food preparation and service meets the specifications set by the Head Chef and management.
Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards at all times.
Prepare orders accurately in line with recipes, instructions, and checks.
Adhere to portion control procedures and report any wastage to the senior chef on duty.
Ensure correct storage of food items, following company policies on stock rotation, segregation, and day-dotting.
Complete daily temperature checks for fridges and freezers as required.
Receive, check, and store deliveries correctly within designated timeframes.
Maintain clear communication with front-of-house and other hotel departments during service.
Report any maintenance issues, equipment faults, or accidents immediately.
About You
Previous experience as a Chef in a hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health & safety regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
